  2. The overall quality of your videos have increased greatly in the past month. Great video, got my excited for my trip to Taipei

  3. All of the food looked incredible including those donuts at the beginning! It's too bad that the weather didn't work out, but at least all the food made it worthwhile. I've heard so many epic things about the food in Taipei!

  4. Lovely video! One thing I donโ€™t enjoy about Northern Taiwan is the weather. However, thanks to the bad weather, you were lucky to have breakfast without waiting for too long, as the line is usually 20 times longer. Anyways, good job!

  5. Taipei street food where you can find a variety of food you can choose it looks so good
I thumbs up your video.. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘

  6. Great vid! Tricky thing about "2" in Mandarin: ไบŒ (รจr) is used for numbers in general (e.g., counting, phone numbers, addresses, math), but ๅ…ฉ (liวŽng) is used before measure words when referring to quantities of objects (e.g., two donuts). So ๅ…ฉๅ€‹ (liวŽng ge) would be the correct way to say when you order two donuts. *ๅ€‹ (ge) is the measure word for donuts and quite some other items. Hope it helps. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Southern part of Taiwan (including the most ancient city Tainan) is definitely somewhere I would stay longer just to enjoy the weather, the food and relaxed atmosphere๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Great videos in your Taiwan series. I miss the people and food in Taiwan the most. If you get a chance I do suggest going to the National 228 Memorial Museum which is about a 10 minute walk from CKS Memorial Hall. The museum is not big at all and is free to enter but details a very defining moment in Taiwanese history – the 228 Massacre. Actually, there is a lot of debate within Taiwanese about Chiang Kai Shek as fought against the Chinese Communist Party during their Civil War and retreated to Taiwan after they lost. While in Taiwan, he led a brutal authoritarian government which led to the 228 Massacre with 30,000 Taiwanese killed, countless more tortured and imprisoned.

  10. Back in Taipei myself, albeit back in 2013 myself!! โ˜บAND THAT WAS UP TO THE TOPS OF TAIPEI 101 TOO!!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ So trust me, I know the awesomenesses of that incredible Island, even if it was from alongs a times agos!!! ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ

  11. Chiang Kai-shek is an important figure, but definetely not a 'cool guy' as you said in the video. He was the leader of China and of the Nationalist Party during World War II. But right after that, he was defeated in Chinese Civil War by Mao Zedong of the Communist Party and lost the mainland to retreat to the island of Taiwan. The original Chinese government, ROC, continued to operate in Taipei, and CKS used iron fists to ensure his supremacy and tight control of the Taiwanese people. At the same time, Mao established another Chinese government, PRC, in Beijing. The two sides seperated since then. Several decades have passed, and Taiwan and China have become what we see now.

The CKS Memorial Hall was constructed soon after CKS died and his son sucseed to lead Taiwan in late 1970s. That is why it is so grand, so Chinese style, and so mammoth in scale. It is purposely to symbolyze the image of CKS as a strong man and his origin of China. The large open square later on became the location of an important political and social movement in 1990, which finally led to the transformation of ROC into a true, vibrant democracy. The space was renamed as the Liberty Square in 2000 when the first peaceful political power transition to a new ruling party DPP occured in history.

  12. A lot of schools and businesses in Taiwan will close for 2 weeks in observance of the Lunar New Year, which this year started on 1/28. Thatโ€™s likely why a few places you visited were closed.

  13. As someone who would run a mile rather than queue for food, I do wonder how many amazing things Ive missed out on by being eternally impatient when Im hungry lol
    Great video as always guys!!!!

  14. Super video as always both. Thank you! Just FYI the breakfast place isnโ€™t a Michelin star establishment. Merely Michelin recommended hence the red plaques. To be graded with a star the plaque will also have star(s) above the word Michelin. Check it out on Google. Cheers โค

  15. The breakfast place, the fried churro usually u can dip them in soy milk( sweet or salty version). U can also put it in the bread and usually we also like to add the egg omlette which makes it like a breakfast sandwich. Their soy milk has a very faint burnt taste which is something ppl love bout that storeโค

  16. They are not a Michelin โ€œstarโ€ restaurant. They are recommended by Michelin guide. Itโ€™s different.

  17. Sorry loved your video but Chiang Kai-shek is the first president of Taiwan. So he is extremely important to Taiwan ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ผ

  18. Even people from US, UK, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Russia, Sweden, Czech republic, Lithuania and Ukraine tourist after and before go to China trip can enjoy the 240 hour visa free transit can come to Taiwan for visit. Not like the EU member states countries (except Sweden Czech republic and Lithuania can still enjoy the 240 hours visa free transit), Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Korea and Japan tourist visa free enter to China trip stay in Mainland China for 30 days visa free no problem they can still come to Taiwan or not.

  19. I enjoyed this video based on the fact you didn't seem like a couple of pretentious bellends like other youtubers who come here. I hope you enjoyed Taiwan.

  20. Hi! Taipei looks like a great destination! Thanks for showing it. We spend about half our travel time filming Japan, and we spend the other half filming in US National and State Parks and other nature areas. We really like your channel and subscribed! What has been your favorite country to travel so far?
