Dude I been there I know about the ship do tours of the places of japan lol
Absolutely love Millennium. Sailed her in 2014 and again in 2022. Both times to Alaska. The only thing that made me sad was that in 2014 they had Murano as one of their specialty restaurants but it had been removed by the time we sailed in 2022.😪
They definitely have some of the largest aft balconies that I’ve stayed in of all the Celebrity ships.
The sign sorta gives away what port your in… KOBE JAPAN! 🙂 So this is like a Disney Wonder size.. just 1 year newer.. I will say Disney sure takes care of their ship It would be interesting to see if other lines do as good as them for upkeep.
this is fun because when i saw it it was the biggest and the newest 😉
Fabulous review. They did a wonderful job refurbishing this ship. We are doing this exact cruise in September 2025. So excited!
I was in Japan last fall loved it was on a different ship than this .I have been on other Solstice class ships its good to see they are keeping up this one.Looks very nice. Thanks for your thourough review. have a great cruise!
Thanks for the tour. The ship looks well taken care of. I cruised Celebrity for the first time this year on the Reflection, was so pleasantly surprised. Next year we'll try the Edge Class ships.
You are in Kobe! saw it on the terminal building hahaha #Eagleeye
She looks great ..good face lift!
Hi guys ! Congratulations on Celebrity Grand Slam ending with one of our favourite ships. She truly is a beauty being the oldest Celebrity ship. 🤗
Great tour! Our only Celebrity experience has been on the Beyond, so it’s nice to see they do a good job renovating the older ships.
Btw we really enjoyed Le Petit Chef – it’s worth trying!
Kobe port
She’s a great ship. Been on her 5 times
Kobe?
It looks lovely! Thank you for the video!
My guess the port you are at is Kobe. There was a slight giveaway as you were walking. But then I’m just guessing. Enjoy and thank you. ❤️❤️😀😀👍🏼👍🏼
Isn’t it funny how just 2 to 3 years ago we all thought that the cruising industry was done for and now it’s thriving beyond wildest expectations
Ah, my very first cruise ship in 2018! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I have fond memories of the Martini Bar and the flairing.
I'm counting down the days to my Celebrity return and Xcel in 2025!
Thanks for a great tour 😍
Kyoto?
Thanks for the tour. My wife and I will be on this cruise next week. Looking forward to it. Stay safe.
The Celebrity Millenium was my first cruise. I love that ship!
I’m not sure I like the different carpets with no transition. It goes from marbling to print…
Are they like Princess and sell used designer bags? I was very surprised to see that last year.
we went on this ship on our cruise to Alaska in 2022 September. We really enjoyed this ship and we are like you…we favor the edge class but we found the food and the crew top notch! Celebrity really does a great job maintaining their ships. You would never know it was their oldest ship. I agree wholeheartedly with your impressions!! The Sky suite was a little small but really nicely laid out.
Overall, I love the renovations to the ship–except one thing. The ship used to have a restaurant that was fitted in the original panelling from a restaurant on the Olympic. The Olympic was the sister ship of the Titanic–and the decor closely resembled the extant photos of the interior of Titanic. We dined there once and it was incredibly beautiful. The decor was removed and the space was renovated to be a generic Tuscan Grill. While I understand the desire for uniformity among specialty dining options, I think the particularly historic nature of this decor would have suited relocating Murano there. But the ship is lovely–it's nice to have a smaller vessel maintained in nice shape.
I didn't actually realise that this is the smallest and oldest in the fleet – she's been maintained beautifully! I last cruised on an older ship on Silhouette just after the pandemic, and was really impressed with how Celebrity are trying to merge the old with the new!
Le Petite Chef-you guys must try this restaurant! Not just funny and innovative but, the food is delicious! We have done 3 different shows- the lobster one is our favorite!! I’m not a fan of lobster but this was absolutely delicious! The downfall is that the menu is limited to a prix fixe menu with an alternative option. Not for everyone, but we loved it!! Also, the service is impeccable and you are out in plenty of time to catch a show, unlike many specialty restaurants! Do it!!
Great ship tour guys thanks you happy sailing. Love your intro
What about ShanShan Typhoon ruining the trip now!?
You gave it away. Kobe port. Big sign, couldn't miss it.
You are in Kobe.
I sailed on Millennium in May, 2002. It was a beautiful ship! Many of the venues have changed over the years though. I'd love to sail on Millennium again!
We took our first cruise on the Millenium back in the early aught. I was completely star struck, my husband thought it was ok, my teenage daughter found out their we a family of kids from our town on board and she refused to come out of the cabin for the entire cruise. Well, daughter is grown, husband passed away 14 years ago, and this widow is ready to cruise again.
Comments on my February 2023 Millennium cruise FLL – San Juan:
1) Very well maintained ship with a crew that is constantly out there maintaining it. Compared to the physical condition of a lot of the RCCL ships, Celebrity does a much better job.
2) The walking track on Deck 11 or 12 is much easier to use on the Millennium than on the Solstice. The promenade on Deck 4 does NOT go all the way around the ship like it does on HAL and Princess which makes it less desirable. Also, one side of Deck 4 is smoking and you can pretty much smell the smoke the length of the ship.
3) The WORST thing about the Millennium is that when you hit rough seas and the captain shuts down the outside decks, that ship feels very, very cramped and crowded. I found that to be less of a problem on ships like HAL's Nieuw Amsterdam. Ditto on the Solstice class ships.
Would I book the Millennium again? Certainly. However, at times, it is often much more expensive than HAL or Princess.
Just went on a 2 week cruise in Japan on this trip. We loved it. The all inclusive package handled just about everything we would want on our trip. The boat was clean modern and the staff were so friendly.
I want to compliment you on your walkthrough because it gives that nice first person perspective on the ship which is very valuable. I do think your tours and your whole understanding of this ship would be better if you'd go back to old deck plans of Celebrity ships and see how these spaces are in context. this ship is 91,000 tons. What that means is large or small depending on your perspective. For me, it's large. But it is exact. The next thing is you call the Grand Foyer the Grand Plaza because you're using the Edge as the reference but the Edge is not the context for the ship. In fact, the Radiance class is because it is built on that hull and that's why it has 3 sets of elevator banks vs. 2 that Celebrity usually has. The Rendezvous Lounge is a Celebrity staple. I know it isn't on the Solstice or Edge class ships but up to the Millennium class it was the lounge for meeting, mingling, dancing to music and sometimes used for art auctions. This is a major space on the Millennium. But going back, there are huge changes made on this ship, beyond the updates in decor. The Sky Lounge is also a huge aspect of this ship because it makes this ship a better cold weather ship than some of the newbuilds and new classes. Also, the specialty restaurant was much more special as it was the only one and a very personalized, upscale experience. It also had actual panels from the Olympic used in it, the Titanic's sister ship. So, just some details like that do more justice to why the ship is designed as it is and gives context to the ship. Edge is a different era, different design, and a sort of departure in major ways for Celebrity. This was an evolutionary ship for Celebrity but highly modified to fit specialty restaurants. I'm glad it's still sailing for Celebrity. In 5 years, some of the Millennium class will likely be transferred to other lines.
We are doing a Japan cruise next year on this ship and are so excited! The ship looks nice, a lot of food options, places to sit and love an indoor pool. I think we'll enjoy our time on this ship, thanks for the tour.
Lovely memories of our cruise in June 2024. Great crew.
How was the cruise? We were looking at that itinerary I was on her before she was revolutionized, back in July of 2015, love celebrity!
What is the best (transportation) way to get to the port or from port to airport? Thinking about August 2025. Thanks in advance.
We are going on a Japan cruise on this ship in October. Thanks for the guided tour guys.
