    Those are not slums. Here in the Philippines we call them voters because a politician takes care of them to a bare minimum for votes during elections.

    the US government had given the philippine government 890 million dollars in financial aid in the past four years. i went there in 2022. the number of beggars and poor people everywhere (provincial cities, too) was overwhelming. 890 millions – where did that money go? all you see is, SM here, SM there. going to the beaches means burning a hole in your pocket. the government builds so many condos. in posh areas, you see so many chinese and koreans. casinos employ many noisy vietnamese. all the asian foreigners i saw seemed to be thriving. what happened to the 890 millions given by the American taxpayers? was it divvied up among filipino politicians and asian foreigners?

    This shipping company is one of the shittiest I and my family have ever experienced, I wish there’s another competition by boat. When we got there at the pier we were so excited, and then we were in the terminal waiting for 2 hours. After 2:30 hours wait the Stewart came and for forgiveness and patience there’s some troubleshooting in the engine room and that lead to 26 hours waiting at the terminal if they were honest and told us it will not be done in 24 hours, we could go back home instead of spending the whole night and day in a row of seats, one child 5 years old, my husband and my uncle. This was April 2023 from Manila to Butuan. Then they checked our tickets and stole back our meal coupons and too much reasoning, denying, blaming before they give it back to us. They see Americans $$$$ in the bag for them. Then the service in the restaurant are awful they will ignore you to death I swear to manananggal I will never ride to that shipping company.

    Awesome ship ❤ looks like a similar to cruise boat the room and dining except they don't have a bouffet and stopping island to island to see other places but very unique way back the old boats 30yrs ago . Thanks for you blog 💞 more power to you. God's for mla people just wanted to explore 🎉

    I am travelling around April time & May look into the boat further .. but I have mobility issues 🙄
    Did anyone find out how I would get on the boat as I wouldn’t manage those stairs & I would hate for it to be the sole reason not to travel this way.

    Lapu-lapu isn't an island, but rather a city. The Island is Mactan. 🙂
