You’ve got to come hike this volcano in Akita!
The trailhead that I started from is here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/A2pkhQWCYVyYBHYQ9
I’m a full-time guide, mostly up in Tohoku (northeast Japan) but I also guide groups up Mt. Fuji in the pre and post season as well as lead normal tours in places like Kyoto, Nara, and Tokyo when contracted.

For people who like stats- the total snowshoe hike was: 13.7 km with a total gain of 1,124 meters – and including all my filming, talking, etc. it was almost exactly 7 hours long (started walking at 9:13am and got back to the parking lot at 4:12pm).
beautiful!! been looking for a reason to come back up to Tōhoku and this might do it for me
Thank you for sharing this beautiful hike!
What a perfect day for making a video! I really appreciate you sharing this one as well as your bit at the end with historical information, too. Thanks for your hard work, Quinlan!
