Chiba Station is located in Chuo-ku, Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture, and is the largest terminal station in Chiba Prefecture.
Served by JR East and the Chiba Urban Monorail, it serves as a hub for access to major cities in the prefecture and beyond.
It is an important transportation hub for commuters, especially those heading to Tokyo and Narita Airport.

Train Lines Served
East Japan Railway
Chiba Station is served by major lines to Tokyo, Narita, and Boso.
1. Sobu Main Line
Chiba Station is one of the main stations on the Sobu Main Line, and rapid trains run directly to Tokyo Station.
It takes about 40 minutes to Tokyo Station (using the Sobu Rapid Line).
The train stops at each station connect to the Chuo and Sobu Lines (local train stops) at Nishi-Funabashi.
Trains bound for Narito and Choshi also arrive and depart. 2.
Narita Line
The Narita Line provides access to Narita Airport and Choshi from Chiba Station.
It takes about 40 minutes to reach Narita Station.
The Narita Airport Access Limited Express (Narita Express) passes through Narita Station.
Sotobo Line
The Sotobo Line starts from Chiba Station and heads for the Pacific Ocean side of the Boso Peninsula (Sotobo area).
This line provides access to tourist destinations such as Kamogawa and Katsuura.
The limited express “Wakashio” runs on this line.
Uchibo Line
This line departs from Chiba Station and runs along the Tokyo Bay, including Tateyama and Kisarazu.
The limited express “Sazanami” runs on this line.
Chiba Urban Monorail
Two lines of the Chiba Urban Monorail serve Chiba Station.
Line 1
– A line that connects to Chiba Minato Station.
– Connects to the JR Keiyo Line.
Line 2
– This line heads toward Senjyodai.
– It connects urban and residential areas and has many commuters.
Future Development Plans
Redevelopment of Chiba Station West Exit
New commercial and condominium developments have been underway in recent years.
New hotels and office buildings are scheduled to be constructed.
Chiba Monorail Extension Plans
Construction of a new Chiba Monorail station is under consideration.

各駅停車は西船橋で中央・総武線（各駅停車）に乗り入れる。
成東・銚子方面への列車も発着。
2. 成田線
千葉駅を起点に成田空港や銚子方面へアクセス可能。
成田駅までは約40分。
成田空港アクセス特急（成田エクスプレス）が通過。
3. 外房線
千葉駅を起点とし、房総半島の太平洋側（外房エリア）へ向かう。
鴨川・勝浦などの観光地へのアクセス路線。
特急「わかしお」が運行。
4. 内房線
千葉駅を出発し、館山・木更津など東京湾沿いを進む路線。
特急「さざなみ」が運行。
千葉都市モノレール
千葉駅には千葉都市モノレールの2路線が乗り入れています。
1. 1号線
– 千葉みなと駅まで結ぶ路線。
– JR京葉線との接続が可能。
2. 2号線
– 千城台方面へ向かう路線。
– 市街地と住宅地を結び、通勤・通学利用者が多い。
