⁴ᴷ Ehime: Matsuyama Station (愛媛県: 松山駅) – Japan Walking Tour (January, 2025)
I’ve resumed my tour of various cities in Shikoku, which I had to put on hold last December. I took a ferry straight from Tokyo to Tokushima, then passed through Kōchi Prefecture to arrive in Ehime Prefecture.
One of the gateways to Matsuyama, Matsuyama Station, has been elevated. The old station building remains, and you can walk from the bus roundabout on the east side of the station, across the old platform, to the new station building. It looks like the area around the station will be redeveloped to improve convenience. Before long, you should be able to transfer to the streetcar without getting wet in the rain, so I’m looking forward to seeing the finished project.
