We often hear about the British that they are “reserved”, “modest”, “proper”, or “Victorian”. But let’s be honest… Those are all just synonyms for “prude”. We wanted to find out if the British are really THAT prudish or if this is just an urban legend. So we went to Studland, the UK’s most famous nude beach and we also tested how the British react to naturists in a place where they don’t expect it.

  1. British Naturism organised a meet up at Studland a few weeks ago and it was totally deserted, apart from myself. Not even any evidence that BN had actually been in attendance at the times they had said they would be there.

  2. Brighton Naturist beach can get pretty solid on a good hot sunny day. – At the east end of the beach, near the marina.

  3. You didn’t show the typical nudes playing with beach balls throw and catch. I remember seeing this in 1974 in a town called Redbourn In Hertfirdshire. I lived there for a while.

  4. the world change there more tolerance for people you can see it with the LGBTQ but my self grown up not to often any body so to do it with like minded people or in club is for me I feel that they do a great job by pushing the boundaries it help us

  5. We planned to go to Studland this summer, so busy, could not park within 5 miles of the beach. Love the video, shows what we missed. Looks beautiful!

  6. You don't often see Taddiford car park as busy as that and It's not unusual to have the entire naturist stretch to yourself. The cliffs are a bit unstable there though, and every winter brings storms that re-arrange the beach, sometimes exposing old WW2 metalwork. It's a lovely spot at low tide on a summer evening.

  7. One of the first times I was in the UK was for a job interview at Cambridge University. And when one of the hosts cycled to a college with me for lunch we were behind a completely naked guy riding a bicycle through town. Just like that. My host was very embarrassed and apologetic, but for me this was the moment where I knew I could live in this country. 😀

  8. There's an annual mass skinny dip in the north east of England every September, that gets around 1,200 participants and raises money for charity. I did it this year. Fun, but the water is very cold.

  9. I know why naturism went on decline in the 90s the end of the Cold War this revival is happening do to the environment and health

  10. Hi guys, great videos. hearing your views on how nice the views and nature are ,we British tend to take it for granted and not appropriate it . About 3 months ago I started walking/ hiking 5 to 10 miles at a time in the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire countryside completely naked, in that time I've encountered a lot of people and normal get greeted with a smile and a cheerful greeting male or female with only one man getting upset because I was naked and voicing his opinion. The only time I cover up is when I go through a village or walk down a main road. Live free, go naked.

  11. A very nice video. I really enjoyed seeing the beaches and it is excellent that nudity is legal, and tolerated, in the UK. Here in Canada, the laws are vague and open to interpretation and misuse. It is unlikely that someone would be faced with legal charges for simple nudity, but persecution by the police and some individuals, is certainly possible. A recent study reported that more than half of the population would accept nudity on beaches, but the legal system is archaic and slow to change. I truly wish that nudity would become legal on beaches, hiking trails, and backyards, etc.

  12. You said it's totally legal to be naked anywhere in England …. hahaha …. I DONT think so …. public nudity is highly illegal and comes with a jail sentence

  13. I don't think that most 'ordinary' people in Britain are especially prudish – but the culture can be in some ways. I suggest you try some beaches in Norfolk and Suffolk – one or two can be pretty uncrowded, which is nice.
