Exploring Rural Vietnam 🇻🇳 Mai Chau Travel Vlog: Mountains, Rice Terraces, and Relaxation

In this Vietnam Travel Vlog, I head to Mai Chau Valley – just 3 hours outside of Hanoi, Vietnam! I first heard of Mai Chau two days before heading there from a fellow traveler in my hostel in Hanoi and it sounded amazing! I booked a mini bus from Hanoi to Mai Chau on https://nataliespassport.12go.com/?z=7634986 and ended up at the Mai Chau Home homestay in Lac Village. The owner of the homestay was amazing! He greeted me with some local tea before giving me a bunch of tips on what to do in Mai Chau, Vietnam. I was hungry, so I walked 14 minutes from my homestay to the Cafe Canh Dong. It was such a cute cafe with cheap beer, great food, and a seating area in the middle of the rice field! I got some dinner and stayed there until after sunset before walking home through the local Lac Village.
The following morning I had a delicious breakfast at my homestay and set out on a longer hike up to a rice terrace viewpoint near Na Cat Mai Chau. It was a fun hike through rice terraces, across some water, and along a few ‘balance beams’. The views were incredible!!! Some of the best views I saw on my trip in Northern Vietnam! After finishing my long hike I returned to my homestay to shower before returning to the same cafe for dinner. The following morning the owner of my homestay booked me a bus to Ninh Binh which picked me up right at the front door. It was an amazing little get away from Hanoi and the perfect place to relax and recharge!

  4. Thanks for the clip. It brought back all memories that we had in that small town. My two little boys used to challenge each other to ride their bikes and climb over that tiny bridge near your homestay! We also ate at that restaurant next to the rice fields (our homestay was across it, at the other end of the rice fields). There was a cave further down the road that you might need a bike to get there. Nothing compared to those in Phong Nha-Ke Bang, but fun to explore, especially for kids. Cute, cozy town with spectacular views!

  5. Natalie, that's better without all the chaos of Hanoi. Nice place where you stayed. The views are amazing. It's worth the bus ride there.

Digs there that will please you. It's nice to be nice it makes the world a better place.

Your variety of the food was good.
What more could you want breakfast outside by the ducks.
Lady doing the weaving so cool keeping traditions alive. Sights along the way on your hike were breathtaking. You have a good centre of gravity core to walk along the beam. You enjoyed it and smiled all the way through. Happy and content with your souttonfings. Lovely video nice gentle chilled pace. 😍💚🙂🌟

  6. Absolutely beautiful!! I don’t think I would have hiked thru all those rice fields and over dodgy looking logs, just by myself. But the scenery was stunning!! Enjoy! But stay safe❤️❤️❤️

  7. If you have a chance, come to Mu Cang Chai and Hoang Su Phi from August to early October. They are 10 times prettier. They are breathtaking. Sumacai and Ha Thanh Quan are also beautiful.
