🇯🇵 Navy Bunker Tomigusuku Okinawa – Japan Walking Tour 4K
The correct name of the site is Former Japanese Navy Underground Headquarters, located in Tomigusuku, near the city of Naha, in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.
Built in 1944 by the Japanese Navy Engineering Corps, this underground tunnel complex spans approximately 450 meters. During the Battle of Okinawa, it served as the headquarters for the Japanese Navy under the command of Rear Admiral Minoru Ota. On June 13, 1945, Ota and many of his men tragically lost their lives in this location.
Today, the site is preserved as a significant historical landmark, offering visitors the chance to explore the original tunnels and learn about the events of World War II through exhibitions and artifacts.
