Being unfamiliar with the local train system, we ended up spending over an hour figuring out the routes, which slightly delayed our itinerary. However, this detour turned into an unexpected blessing. Sitting by the train window, we were greeted by the tranquil beauty of the Seto Inland Sea. The shimmering water, coastal villages, and quaint houses formed a moving painting as the train glided along. The calm daily life of the locals hopping on and off the train gave us a glimpse of Kobe’s simple yet authentic charm. Despite the detour, the serene scenery made it a memorable part of our trip.
Asagiri Beach: A Vibrant Summer Escape
When we finally arrived at Asagiri Beach, we were captivated by its stunning charm. The sky was painted a brilliant shade of blue, occasionally interrupted by helicopters flying overhead. Families played joyfully by the shore, children laughing as they splashed in the waves, and parents relaxing under the summer sun. The majestic Akashi Kaikyo Bridge stretched out in the distance, a breathtaking sight that added grandeur to the peaceful seascape. Paired with the chef’s recommended condiments and fine wine, the tender, juicy Kobe beef melted in our mouths, offering an unparalleled sensory experience. The warm ambiance and attentive service of the restaurant elevated the meal beyond food—it was a feast for the soul as much as for the palate.

This day started with an unplanned train journey, took us through Asagiri’s vibrant beach and Maiko’s serene sunset, and ended with a top-tier Kobe beef dinner. Every corner of Kobe is infused with delicate beauty and heartfelt emotions, leaving us with an even deeper love for this city.
