After researching best onsens to visit during our trip to Hakone, this onsen resort caught my attention. They offer private onsens that can be booked online up to one month in advance on their website. Highly recommend doing that to secure your onsen choice. When we first arrived during their opening hour, there was already a line that formed. They have multiple onsen options available to pick from including size of the onsen and design. They also have a vending machine available to get water and drinks as it is recommended to stay hydrated. In my opinion, the prices to rent the onsens are fairly affordable. A lot of the hotels that have their in room onsens can cost $200 plus. The room for this private onsen when converting JPY to USD was under $80. This place is ideal for those on a budget but also want to make the most of their trip in Japan. Hakone Yuryo is a perfect addition to add to your Hakone travel list.
