Route 66 Part 3 – Budweiser, Meramec Caves, and the Gateway Arch

Greetings viewers!

We finally caught up with our friends David and Justin who were taking their amazing skoolie on their very first shakedown trip – and somehow they agreed to do Route 66 with us! After meeting up at the super convenient and awesome RV Self Park – we were off to explore some of the St. Louis area attractions. This included the Meramec Caverns (enormous and so cool that even Jessie James decided it was a good place to hide from the law after a robbery), The Chain of Rocks Bridge (once we figured out how to get to it)- the original way to get to St. Louis from Illinois on Route 66, The Gateway Arch – always a fun experience (except for the body cavity search it took just to go up in it and the panic-inducing sardine can they use to transport you to the top), and the home of the aptly named King of Beers – THE Anheuser-Busch brewery. Wherever you come down on ‘boring old Budweiser’ – wait until you try it straight from the teat as it were – it’s unlike any Bud you’ve had before and on it’s own is worth the trip. The tour itself was only $15 and SO full of history and just crazy cool info that we’re ready to go back and take it again.

Thanks again to David (@futureme on the ticking tok) and Justin for putting up with us and following us like Obi Wan on some damned fool idealistic crusade….or RV road trip.

Next time we’re traveling south on the Route again. You don’t want to miss us pull fudge from Uranus, visit a giant blue whale and an equally giant pop bottle, as well as explore another cave….in a Jeep this time! Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out….we’d really LIKE it….

Thanks for flying with us!
