The Japan Series // Exploring Kyoto, Wearing Kimono, Overnight at a Ryokan
We spent the next four days in Kyoto and I’m wishing we had scheduled at least another two days here. There is so much to see and do! We started our visit with a stay at Izuyasu, a ryokan that was founded in the late Edo period, and enjoyed an amazing Kaiseki dinner based on the 24 seasons of Japan. We then headed to Cross Hotel, which is right next to Pontocho. We toured some of the Geisha districts with a wonderful guide (Highly recommend as you learn so much more than you would on your own.) We also had a kimono experience and had it photographed by Taka, who was so much fun to work with. We also hit the some of highlights, Fushimi Inari, Sannenzaka and Kiyomizu-Dera, Tenryu-Ji Temple and Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. We saw A LOT and I feel like we barely scratched the surface. But join us as we visit these fantastic locations.
