Discover the Magic of Towada Hachimantai National Park in Japan!

The Towada Hachimantai National Park was established in 1936. It consists of 2 parts (the Hachimantai area and the Towada area) that together are 85,534 hectares (855 square miles). There are multiple mountains, many of them volcanic with great hiking trails. There are also numerous thermal features that can be explored for free. There’s basically no admission fee or reservation necessary – you can just go!

I’m a full-time guide, mostly up in Tohoku (northeast Japan) but I also guide groups up Mt. Fuji in the pre and post season as well as lead normal tours in places like Kyoto, Nara, and Tokyo when contracted.

  1. Great video with amazing views! 🤩 I'm planning on hiking both Mt. Moriyoshi and Akita-komagatake during the Golden Week holidays this year. Any tips?

    Keep up the good work!

  2. Hi Quinlan, You must have one of the best jobs in Japan. To be out and about most days is such beauty makes me envious.I do live a short distance from the Highlands of Scotland, about 90 minutes, but it rains so much that it looks dull and miserable much of the time.

  3. Wow, did you really only start going up mountains around the pandemic? It seems like for sure, you were experienced by then! 😄

  4. Unbelievable camera footage. I always love the laid back and relaxed attitude of your channel, you're like the Bob Ross of Japan vlogs. 😛 Keep up the great work Quinlan.

  5. Oh, love this style of video. Very soothing, perfect for bedtime 😁 And it's lovely to get a "year in the life" of one place – it's so cool to see how well you know these places, in all their guises.
