Hokkaido to Tokyo: Plan B is this Last-Minute Night Ferry for Winter Travelers

If you’re traveling in Hokkaido during the winter and need a backup plan due to potential weather disruptions (e.g., heavy snow, flight cancellations), consider returning via the Silver Ferry from Hokkaido to Honshu, followed by the Shinkansen to Tokyo. This route offers a reliable alternative to air travel.

  1. Incredible news, my friend! You're off on yet another fantastic adventure—savor every moment! You truly deserve it. Sending you lots of love and wishing you and your family a wonderful New Year filled with blessings!

  2. Thanks for the recommendation. A flight would take 6 hours day time or so door to door anyway. Unsure how this alternative trip would cost comparing apple to apple to flight plus one night hotel stay plus airport transfers.

  3. 17:01 – also, nice sunrise. The cabin wasn't much, but I've had worse travel arrangements for $58 USD. At least it was private.

  4. Gotta say I really, really enjoy your videos! I’m in America and I’ve always thought Japan was such a beautiful country and your videos do your wonderful country justice. I’m thoroughly enjoying your adventures and your sense of humor 😂 and all the curry you eat 😂 ❤

  5. Are restrooms located in the cabin area when you dont have a full suite, or do you have to leave it to find a restroom elsewhere on the ship? It looks empty for the most part. All to yourself. Hope you had anti-seasick pills. They help me sleep too. Thanks for sharing your trip!
