It had a role to tell the time to people in the Edo period. The bell was made by the order from Tokugawa Tsunayoshi in 1692. The height: about 2m, and the diameter of about 1.5m. This bell remained safely even under Great Tokyo Air Raids of 1945. Even now the bell rings at 6:00 every morning.
