Decided to take you guys along with me for my FIRST 3-day weekend in Japan! Monday (Sept. 17) was “Respect of the Aged Day” in Japan, so I didn’t have to go to school to teach. I ended up hanging out with a lot of new AND old friends, traveling on the Shinkansen for the first time by myself, eating a ton of good food (including PIZZA), and shopping (a lot). My trip to Nagoya took a total of 5 hours each way and included me driving, taking a bus, a few trains, and a taxi.
Here’s a breakdown of what I did each day in this video, along with the names of the places/restaurants:
FRIDAY (Sept. 14):
 -Went to Koiji Beach (Noto-cho)
-Hung out with other ALTs at Kodama Pizza (Suzu-shi)
Saturday (Sept. 15):
 -Traveled from Noto-cho to Nagoya
-Ate unagi (I don’t know the name of the restaurant)
 -Hung out with my grandparents
Sunday (Sept. 16):
-Went shopping at UNIQLO in JR Takashimaya (Nagoya Train Station)
-Tried the NEW Crispy Sweet Potato Frappuccino at Starbucks Reserve (Nagoya)
 -Hung out with my grandparents
Monday (Sept. 17):
-Met up with a UChicago friend
-Went to Nagoya Castle, a shrine (forgot name, but my omikuji/fortune that I got was good luck), and a few parks (one being Meijo Park)
-Ate at Jerry’s Uno and got friend chicken at Lawson
-Got ANOTHER Starbucks, a hojicha tea latte (Kanazawa Station)
 -Traveled back to Noto-cho
It was so much fun, and I am so sad that it is over! But I’m sure there will be many more trips in the future. If you have any recommendations on places that I should visit in Japan, please let me know either in the comments or message me!
