Shirahama which is translated as “white beach” is an 800-meter sandy beach and is known as the beach resort town of the southern-central region of Japan’s main island Honshu.

Its white sand was imported from Australia. It is also said that Shirahama beach is the sister beach of Hawaii’s famous Waikiki beach.
