Japan Day 7 & 8 | Two Days in Hakone
ππ Two-Day Hakone Getaway: Onsens, Ancient Tea Houses & Pirate Ships! π»π
Hello, everyone! Ready for a whirlwind adventure in Hakone, Japan? π This charming mountain town is famous for its stunning views of Mount Fuji, relaxing onsens, and so much to explore. Join us as we dive into two unforgettable days packed with fun, food, and surprises!
Our journey began on the Romancecar π from Shinjuku to Hakone, where we soaked in scenic views and savored eki-bentos π± on board. Once in Hakone, we wandered through local shops and enjoyed a riverside strollβuntil the skies opened up with a surprise downpour! β
When the rain let up, we headed into the mountains π to eat some mochi and drink some Amazake (a non-alcoholic, sweet fermented rice drink) at a historic tea house π«. Next, we hopped aboard a pirate ship π΄ββ οΈ for a scenic cruise on Lake Ashi, and then soared on a gondola π‘ to the sulfur springs of Owakudani.
After a day full of adventure, we arrived at our ryokan π¨ and melted away our soreness in the natural onsen baths β¨οΈ. Dinner? A heavenly tonkatsu feast in Gora π΄ followed by a classic Japanese 7-11 snack run π as the best way to end the day.
We absolutely loved Hakone, and we canβt wait to share whatβs next in our Japan travels! Stay tuned for more adventures! πβ¨
