Nakasendo Walk Magome to Tsumago – Hiking Japan’s most legendary trail.

Nakasendo Walk Magome to Tsumago – Hiking Japan’s most legendary trail. Join me as I go back in time on a walk along part of the most famous Samurai route in Japan, the Nakasendo trail. Before Tokyo had its current name, it was called Edo and the Nakasendo trail was the main walking route between Edo and Kyoto. There were many small towns along the route and I’ll be hiking between two of the best – Magome-juku (Magome post town) and Tsumago-juku (Tsumago post town).

You will get an idea of how difficult the trail is, the gorgeous scenery to expect ,and where you can stop for rest and refreshments.

There’s no narration in this video, just the natural sounds of this fabulous walk. The video was shot in early November, which is a great time of the year to do this walk. If you are not fortunate enough to be able to do this walk, please enjoy this virtual walk.

Please note that this channel was previously known as Japan Photo Explore, but since I live in Australia and travel to other destinations apart from Japan, I decided to change the name to broaden the scope of the content. Of course I still love traveling to Japan and I will continue to create more content from Japan in the future.
