Kagoshima
In the furthest southwest corner of the island of Kyushu I find myself coming into the city of Kagoshima with the imposing figure of Japan’s most active volcano, Sakurajima, looming in the background. There are not very many geocaches to be found here, not many at all. In fact, there are little more than a dozen across the entire prefecture and only three in the city, so I will set out to find each of the three in the city while I am here. To add a little flavor to the tour I also attempt to visit each of 3 museums residing where Kagoshima Castle once stood. It is a rather quick tour of the downtown area, but I make sure to stop in and see as many of the sights as possible as I bounce between the caches and the museums. Come along with me to see what Kagoshima has in store for the intrepid explorer.
