約300年の歴史を持ち、その泉質の良さから「日本一の名湯」と呼ばれ代々の薩摩藩主が愛用したと言われる「薩摩の殿湯」。
泉質は単純泉で本来は無色透明ですが、湧出する途中でガスが膨張し爆発する様に吹き出すため、微かな乳白色と成分の結晶（いわゆる湯の花）を多く含んだお湯となっており、神経痛・リュウマチ・腰痛・胃腸痛・切傷・女性の美容美肌に効くとされております。

With a history of around 300 years, Satsuma no Tonoyu is known as “Japan’s most famous hot spring” due to its excellent spring quality, and is said to have been a favorite of successive feudal lords of the Satsuma domain.
The spring quality is simple spring water, which is originally colorless and transparent, but as the gas expands and explodes as it gushes out, the water has a faint milky color and contains a lot of crystals of ingredients (known as “yu no hana” [hot spring deposits]), and is said to be effective for neuralgia, rheumatism, lower back pain, gastrointestinal pain, cuts, and for women’s beautiful skin.
