  1. Back in the 80s monk fish was called poor man's lobster. And was common in seafood restaurants in the USA. I haven't seen it since.

  2. I didn't know Japanese people ate monkfish. It's one of the most appreciated fish in my region, Catalonia. We make it in stew but the approach is very different, with potatoes, prawn and mussels. Would have loved to try it when I was on Japan last year if I had known
