A Scenic Shinkansen Journey: Sapporo to Takayama
This is the longest train journey we ever did in Japan, we love to travel via train especially via Shinkansen because the views are very scenic, trains are very comfortable and easy to get to. However, there are unexpected things that can happen during the journey…
We used our JR Pass to travel this far in Japan. You can reserve your seats and seats with luggage compartments. The journey is almost 12 hours:
Sapporo – Hakodate – 3.5 hrs
Shin Hakodate – Omiya – 4 hrs
Omiya to Toyama – 1. 45mins
Toyama – Takayama 2 hours
