This is the reason I wanted to visit Nagoya…

Get ready for a jam-packed episode you DO NOT want to miss…

In this episode, we took a day out of our Kyoto stay to travel to Nagoya, a city just 30 minutes east, to see what it was all about… and needless to say, it did not disappoint.

Not only was the city just a very interesting walk through, but the main reason I wanted to visit in the first place was because of the Nabana No Sato, a place not even in the city but close by, that housed many spectacular LED light shows – and it was MILES better than I ever thought it would be.

For many people who travel to Japan, you might not be familiar with this wonderful city. Well? I’m here to show you exactly what you can expect in the city. So grab your snacks and your drink, because this is a long one…

  1. Been to Nabana no Sato several years back during the dead of winter in January. Cold as heck but the experience was so worth it. Most western tourists don’t venture there for the winter illumination. Best illumination I’ve seen in my life. Agree with your assessment. That place gave me chicken skin (goose bumps). Thanks for the great video!

  2. As a dual citizen with half my family in the Kasugai (Nagoya-ish) area, I can comfortably say that the Higashiyama (yellow) subway line is more hellish than most Tokyo lines.

Happy you went to the broadcasting tower/downtown of Nagoya.
A lot of people just skip the area and leave saying there's nothing to do in the city. Which is mostly true if you stick to around Nagoya Station.

If you ever come back, happy to give local recommendations like Syphon Coffee & Tea and Sky Promenade!
