6 Days Exploring Tokyo – From Shinjuku to Shibuya, Asakusa to Akihabara!
Hey everyone! Welcome back to the channel! If you’re new here, don’t forget to hit that subscribe button. We’ve just wrapped up an incredible 6-day walking tour in Tokyo, and today I’m sharing all the best spots we visited, from bustling Shinjuku to the peaceful gardens of Hamarikyu. Let’s dive in!
Day 1: Exploring Shinjuku
We started our adventure in Shinjuku! This area is known for its bright lights, skyscrapers, and entertainment districts. We first checked out the famous Kabukicho area, filled with lively nightlife and unique spots like the Godzilla Head at the Hotel Gracery. It’s massive, and it really makes you feel like you’re in the heart of the action!.
We also explored the vibrant Golden Gai—a maze of tiny, intimate bars where locals hang out. It’s the perfect spot for those looking to soak up the nightlife atmosphere.
Day 2: Meiji Jingu Shrine & Shibuya Adventures
First stop: Meiji Jingu Shrine. Located near Harajuku, it’s a peaceful escape from the city hustle. We even walked through the impressive torii gates that lead you to the shrine grounds.
Next up, we hit Takeshita Street—this famous shopping street in Harajuku is packed with quirky stores, snacks, and fashion. Don’t miss the Pokémon Store in Shibuya! We had a blast checking out all the exclusive merchandise.
Then, we headed to Shibuya Crossing, probably the most iconic intersection in the world, before making our way to Shibuya Sky for stunning panoramic views of the city.
Day 3: Asakusa & Sushi Train
We visited Asakusa, home to the historic Senso-ji Temple and the fun Hanayashiki Amusement Park. Afterward, we took a relaxing stroll around Shinobazu Pond, a peaceful spot in Ueno Park.
For dinner, we had a fun experience at a Sushi Train restaurant. If you’ve never tried it, the sushi just keeps coming on a conveyor belt, and you grab whatever you want. So cool!
Day 4: Hamarikyu Gardens & Akihabara
Day 4 took us to Hamarikyu Gardens, one of Tokyo’s most beautiful gardens. The serene atmosphere and the lovely Shioiri Pond were the perfect contrast to the busy streets of the city.
In the afternoon, we headed to Akihabara, Tokyo’s mecca for tech, gadgets, and anime culture. And then, we visited teamLab Borderless, an immersive digital art museum that’s out of this world. The lights, colors, and interactive exhibits were truly unforgettable!
Day 5: Views from Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building
We took in incredible views of Tokyo from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building—it’s free to visit, and the views are breathtaking, especially on a clear day.
Afterward, we explored Shinjuku Chuo Park—a quiet, green space in the middle of the city, and ended the day with the light show at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. It was a beautiful way to wrap up our Shinjuku exploration.
Day 6: Tokyo Ramen Street & Kokyogaien Garden
On our final day, we couldn’t leave without trying Tokyo’s legendary ramen! We visited Tokyo Ramen Street inside Tokyo Station and sampled some delicious bowls of noodles.
Then, we ended our journey with a visit to Kokyogaien Garden, a peaceful and scenic spot near the Imperial Palace. It was the perfect way to unwind and reflect on an incredible 6 days.
