ABOUT TDR EXPLORER

Hi, 👋🏽 My name is Chris, aka TDRExplorer, and I started sharing my theme park adventures. Over the years, TDRExplorer has become a resource for passionate theme park fans looking to make the best of their trips to Asia. Including Tokyo Disneyland and Universal Studios Japan!

  1. I knew it, it was you. Saw you earlier in starbucks. Was using your guide last week to prepare for this vacation. Thanks for the guide!

  2. Somewhat sad that Yoshi is only such a footnote in the park. I'd be all for having a Yoshi's Island area on its own plus Yoshi would be adorable as a mascot. At least there are a bunch of cute Yoshi merch items so far.

Also a bit baffled that the DK merch shop owned by Funky doesn't contain anything themed after the titular character. No Funky headband or sunglasses? Really?!

  3. Really love what they did with that land! Looks super fun and the food looks gooooood! Chris, I love your sense of humor! 🤣

  4. I’m not much of a fan of Donkey Kong and Mario but this looks really cool I hope they do something similar for Sonic the Hedgehog someday thanks for sharing your experience of this 👍❤️

  5. as a donkey kong fan, this is AMAZING!!!😭thank u for bringing us along with you chris – I live vicariously through you!

  6. Merry Christmas, Chris! Your beautiful, colorful videos — and enthusiastic giggles — bring so much joy to those of us who can only dream of visiting these places. Thank you so much!❄❤🎄

  7. I'm so obsessed with Chris's commitment to the bit, having a custom outfit for both fantasy springs and donkey kong country. Plus the bananas! Isn't fresh fruit like that expensive in Japan?

  8. Was super lucky and was able to ride the mine cart coaster during technical rehearsals last week! It was sooo much fun!

Closest I can compare it to is Goofy’s Fly School – so it’s zippy with some fast semi-steep drops. And really excellent animatronics!

  9. Will you be visiting the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto? There, surprisingly, does not appear to be a lot of coverage on it!

  10. I’m glad to hear that it is more thrilling than you expected. I was worried that this ride would basically be universal Studios answer to seven dwarfs mine train, which is really really way too team. Well it sounds like maybe this could be more like Universal answer T Lakes under Mountain, which sounds much more exciting.

  11. Love the outfit! Husband and I were in Japan late July-early August and were sad to miss DK . We’re coming in back in April (with our 3 kids) and cannot wait to experience this!

  12. my boyfriend and i love your videos so much!!! thank you so much for putting so much effort in your content!!

  13. The new area comes off as a lot smaller than the main SNW part yeah? How long would you say the Mine Cart ride is?

Merchandise looks cool, hoping they'll expand on this with like a Dixie Kong plush.

Did you notice any reference to King K. Roll the original DKC baddie in the area, or just the Tiki tribe?

  14. I visited CityWalk here in Hollywood earlier this month but sadly the wristbands for Donkey Kong Country weren't available at the Super Nintendo World store but I still got to see the Preview Centre there! What was your favorite part about the visit to the new land? Happy Christmas!
