⁴ᴷ Shizuoka: Hamamatsu Station (静岡県: 浜松駅) – Japan Walking Tour (December, 2024)
It’s getting colder, so I decided to head west in Japan. My plan was to visit the major cities in Shikoku, so after crossing the sea, I took a ferry from Tokushima to Wakayama, then traveled through Osaka, Shiga, Gifu, and Aichi, and have now arrived in Shizuoka Prefecture.
Starting on Wednesday, there were already a fair number of people out bar-hopping. Maybe it’s because it’s the end of the year and the bōnenkai (year-end party) season is in full swing? I thought next week would be the peak of bōnenkai season, but maybe I was wrong. The cobblestone-paved Yūraku-gai shopping street was crowded with revelers, so you had to be careful when walking around. I also assumed Chitose-chō, another entertainment district, would be pretty empty as usual, but on this particular day, there were actually quite a few people out.
