A port town facing the sea ⚓ A place where the atmosphere and streetscape of the Edo period remains
“Shiomachi Karakoto Street” facing the Seto Inland Sea is a historical road in the port town of Shimotsui, Kurashiki City, where old buildings have been preserved as they are. The port town atmosphere that has continued since the Edo period (from around 1603) remains strong, and there are places dotted with wooden buildings that make you feel as if you have traveled back in time.
In the town, boats and fishing cooperative nets related to the lives of fishermen create a good atmosphere with the Seto Inland Sea as a backdrop, making the walk even more enjoyable.
Ushimado Kaido is a popular place that is overflowing with beachgoers in the summer, and even though the day of the photo shoot was a weekday, many beachgoers were enjoying themselves.
