I’ve just disembarked a cruise where I travelled 1458 miles across Japan. I saw lots of things I expected like castles, temples and amazing toilets but also saw and did things I never could have predicted. From fizzy milk to orange sandwiches. Hot sauce vending machines to hats for cats. Every single minute of this cruise was unbelievable and has to be seen to be believed.

This video is just one part of a series, to find out what we got up to onboard the ship, check out this video next:

I didn’t know if I was being too optimistic with my to-do list and I hoped that doing a mix of cruise line excursions and trips by myself would be the right idea. As I had travelled over 5000 miles to take this cruise I really didn’t want anything to go wrong. I started my journey in Tokyo where I stayed for a couple of nights to try to get used to the time difference. Tokyo is 9 hours ahead of London so I flew overnight, basically skipped forward a day and arrived in the evening again. I didn’t see the sun for two days but that didn’t matter, I was so excited.

  1. These are fascinating insights we get from Emma's video, just like we got through the reports during her journey 🏯. I got the impression that a cruise with NCL and on this itinerary is a recommended option to feel safe so far from home ⛩️.

  2. Definitely love Japanese toilets. I’ve even installed one at home👍🏻😁 It’s great to wash overweight people’s bot bots🤣
They have amazing vending machines and soooo cheap!!

  3. In the middle east they have yogurt soda. Which would be a fizzy dairy drink. You should cruise the sea of sand and try it there.

  4. Thanks for sharing! How does Nagasaki's devastation compare to Pompeii? 🤔 And hey, I’m totally with you on museums! 😂 I was lucky to meet a like-minded traveler on a 2-week UK trip. We’d hit museums like the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh and be like, 'Let’s meet back here in 30 minutes!' ⏰ I get so toe-tapping impatient with groups that stop to look at and discuss every single object in a museum! 🤦‍♀🤣

  5. Not going to lie, I’ve always been a loyal Princess cruiser but I’m considering Norwegian all because of @EmmaCruises

  6. Very savvy of NCL to partner with/sponsor Emma! Her channel is fantastic and you can absolutely trust her judgment when it comes to all things cruises. We just finished an 11-day NCL cruise in the Caribbean and watching this definitely makes me want to try one of their Japan itineraries!

  7. My wife is from Japan so we do our own thing every port, which has been excellent. Cruised the country twice on Holland America once on NCL. We have taken the Shinkansen twice to visit ports the ship missed. The wash function on the toilets chaps your skin.

  8. Great of you to have Emma on this cruise! I really like the look of the Norwegian Spirit and will be shopping for a cruise on this ship!

  9. Thanks for sharing! Well done NCL partnering with Emma; she is so upbeat but tells the truth. I am considering a similar cruise since I spent a year teaching in Korea in the 90's and would love to see how it has changed!

  10. I've never been in a cruise, but I enjoy watching Emma's content, (cruising vicariously) because She is one of those people I think you can trust. She seems down to earth and fair in her judgment. It was great that NCL partnered with her; and this video and the video on her channel seem really sincere. If I ever go in a cruise, NCL would be up high in the option list, thanks to Emma.

  11. If you're curious about the carbonated dairy drink, you can try adding milk to your favorite soda (like you do with tea). It basically just makes your soda creamy but still tastes like soda.

  12. Didn't you eat any local food? No egg sando at 7-11? No sushi? No takoyaki in Osaka? No Wagyu beef? No tamago? No ramen? No katsu? No curry?
