Japan’s Dark History: At Least 100k People Lost Their Lives in This Spot

Ok, I know this one is very different from what I normally do but it was honestly super fascinating and educational.
Come with me to see a lesser known area of Tokyo more off the beaten path and further away from the bustling tourist traps and bright lights of the city. Our destination is Suzugamori execution grounds, where we will learn about some of the dark history surrounding the Tokugawa shogunate, which used to govern Japan back in the day. The grounds are fascinating and disturbing…I’ve never experienced anything like it in my entire life. Afterwards we will check out Meiji University museum’s Criminal materials exhibit to further investigate some of the implements used to catch, punish, and eliminate prisoners in this dark tourism vlog.
All of the locations in this video are free for the public to visit and can be done in an afternoon if dark tourism interests you. As always, please be respectful and mindful of the painful history these locations carry whenever visiting.

  3. This is so sad! I didn't even know they would kill Christians? Rest in peace to all who was innocent and murdered.

  4. bummer about the timings all in all though really informative and enjoyable thankyou for giving us all a longer glimpse into the Japan you experience

  5. Make no mistake… the heinous atrocities that these so called "christians" were doing in other Asian and South American nations at this time were horrors too brutal to even conceive. Japan was very aware of this and didnt allow the "christians"
a foothold in their own nation of Japan for their protection. And history has proved them right !

  6. Long ago Japanese people had superhuman powers such as 'allowing the tide to come in'. The moon and the sea bowed to their powers.
