Hey folks, back in Tokyo for another round of exploration. Treasure hunting through the city’s amazing secondhand shops and watch boutiques has been our bread and butter but do not fold right away because we have more than that in our lineup!
Thrifting for Timepieces
Japan is a watch lover’s paradise, and Tokyo is the epicenter of it all. From vintage Rolexes and Omegas to quirky Seiko automatics, you can find some incredible timepieces at a fraction of their retail price.
One of my favorite spot would be in the form of BookOff Super Bazaar in any area of Japan. They have a huge selection of watches from all the major brands, as well as some lesser-known gems. I found a beautiful vintage Rolex Submariner there that was in mint condition for a fraction of the price.
But the real treasures are often found in the backstreets of Tokyo. There are countless tiny shops tucked away in alleyways, filled with unique and affordable watches. You just have to be patient and do some digging to find them.
More than just watches of course, Tokyo is not just about watches. The city is also a mecca for fashion and design. You can find everything from high-end designer boutiques to quirky vintage stores.
Thrifting in Tokyo is more than just a shopping experience; it’s a cultural immersion. You get to interact with locals, learn about their fashion sense, and discover hidden gems that you would never find in a tourist shop.
So if you’re ever in Tokyo, be sure to take some time to explore the city’s secondhand shops. You might just find the perfect watch or piece of clothing to take home as a souvenir.
Tokyo is a city of contrasts, where tradition meets the modern. It’s a city that I love and always look forward to returning to. And if you’re a watch lover like me, it’s a city that you simply must visit.
Nakano Broadway is always a good spot for vintage toy and memorabilia hunters plus the good old secondhand luxury watches. Content creators in this space has been visiting this chain store everytime they visit Tokyo, Japan.
We have been receiving requests about visiting this place again and I do understand that we have to bring justice to those comments. Plus, I myself can’t resist the idea of experiencing Nakano Broadway with the intention of luxury watches.
Obviously, prices for Rolex, Audemars Piguet (AP), Patek Philippe, Omega, Tudor, Grand Seiko and other luxury brands are way way out of our league but we do not need to pay just to see what is available in Nakano Broadway or if we are lucky enough, maybe we can even do a wrist fit for the watches.
Between all the mentioned brands for this episode, I am really leaning forward to Tudor. I do not know but I like the design and vibe of each watch that they have. Call me a poor mans Rolex person, it’s fine. I love it and call me guilty. Patek Philippe alienates me but visually speaking, it can boost your outfit in any occasion. I feel like it fits perfectly for me due to its small size build. Audemars Piguet or AP is something that I need to park for now because it overwhelms my current state in learning this watch hobby.
Make sure to have your snack before watching this episode because we are packed in our entire Tokyo trip as it beat as the heart of Japan!

Can't wait for 2025 since we will be visiting Japan. Glad to stumble your content since I am planning to get a watch. I'll be staying in Shinjuku. Is it easy to get there?
The editing is making me watch your videos dude! I really like the currency table. It makes my life easier!!!
What a clean Rolex there! we visited this place few months and indeed a must visit!! are you living in Japan now?
Lodz nalito lito ka na ata 44 thousand na, million pa hahaha nakakalula talaga presiyo nila. mahal pa sa budget namin sa bakasyon diyan
Have you tried Komeyo in Nagoya? They are selling fancy watches too. even Don Quixote.
What do you do with so many watches? 😊
Glad that Mandarake is included in this vlog! Those Tudors are quite cheaper. Any exclusive release?
Nice video but the watches there are way over-priced.

Skipped to the toys part, but they're expensive.
Watches in japan are now overpriced
FYI bro, just got back from our trip from Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. Long post ahead – sumimasen!
For others planning to get a watch, here's our experience:
Went to all BookOff Super Bazaar MAD recommended in the past especially Saitama, Kawasaki and kind of disappointing tbh especially Omiya – 0 Seiko watches at all there(donki, 2 superbazaar) hence we kinda have wasted alot of time of our day there for the back n forth and walking. So plan ahead for other stores like Okura, Sakura etc if they are near the area too as they have watches too.
As for the 3 Superbazaar at Kawasaki – it just had around very few options 3-5 Seiko watch at best there so might be good to add as disclaimer that your videos are a little few months late of upload.
On the brighter side – we learned a lot with visiting alot of Bookoff, understanding that there are bag ratings, and watch ratings(sadly bookoff have very few good rated bags & watches too). For MAD – might be good to show, mention the watch and bag ratings too for viewer's sake 🙂
Nonetheless, still got a pre-owned 2024 GS in the end – way cheaper against what you showed here in the videos from a vintage store so I'm still happy to be able to have my very first Seiko watch and it's a GS! (only aimed at JDM coming in to Japan below 50k yen but have to spend way more for this GS but still worth it I guess hahaha).
Sorry for the long comment, just wanted to be constructive as possible as you've still been a great help buddy!
You got that Filipino sing song
Hey bro, your last vlog in Akihabara helped me score the Tiffany Blue Seiko 5 at Akky for an amazing price. Grateful for that, Madkorner! Your channel deserves more subscribers. Let’s gooo!
