The Yunami Sanpomichi, a serene coastal path connecting the two towns, is one of my favorite places to take a leisurely walk with my wife and our dog. With the sound of waves and the fresh sea breeze, it’s a tranquil escape that feels like stepping into a slower, simpler time. Starting at Katase-Shirata Station, I stroll to Atagawa Onsen under a sunny sky, enjoying the nostalgic atmosphere of streets lined with historic buildings and the gentle steam rising from the hot springs. On the way back, I explore the quiet backstreets of Katase Onsen in the warm glow of the afternoon, a perfect end to this relaxing journey.
