Cycling Japan’s Oboke Gorge in Shikoku, Sleeping in an Old Japanese School π―π΅π² Road Trip Part 4!
This is the next stop on our 3 week road trip & cycling tour around Japan!
We finally reached the island of Shikoku, which is the smallest of the four main islands of Japan, and made up of four prefectures: Ehime, Kagawa, KΕchi, and Tokushima.
We stayed in an old elementary school on the side of a mountain, and got to admire the beauty of the Oboke Gorge (倧ζ©ε±ε³‘). We were also biking in all four of Shikokuβs prefectures on one ride, cycled along the Yoshino River, and saw one of the Iya valleyβs vine bridges, or Iya Kazurabashi (η₯θ°·γγγζ© ). There’s so much nature to explore on Shikoku!

It's good to see you again.
Shikoku looks beautiful!
You should stay there this year. Take care.
Wow, what an amazing place, your own basketball court and everything.
The school looks like an amazing place to stay. Was it expensive?
Great vid as always, thanks!
Iya is one of my favourite memories from cycling in 2023. From Tokushima to Oboke through Mt. Tsurugi and the Iya Valley. Nagoro, Ochiai, vine bridges, snakes on the road and the feeling of being almost the only living human around. Truly a great way to clear your head.
