Hokkaido Japan Vlog 14 : Part 2 Highlights – More Snow, Food, and Shopping!

Welcome back to my Hokkaido vlog series! Today was an amazing day filled with beautiful sights, delicious food, and a bit of shopping. Let me take you through the highlights.

Morning: Otaru Canal and Pastries We started our day with a visit to the picturesque Otaru Canal. The canal, with its charming stone warehouses and quaint bridges, looked even more magical in the morning light. We took a leisurely stroll along the canal, soaking in the serene atmosphere and capturing some stunning photos. After our walk, we stopped by the famous Kitakaro Otaru Main Shop to grab some freshly baked pastries. Their selection was incredible, and everything smelled so good! We picked up a variety of treats to enjoy later.

Mid-Morning: Snowfall and Uniqlo As we continued our exploration, we were greeted by a beautiful snowfall. The flakes danced gently in the air, adding a touch of magic to our surroundings. Feeling the chill, we decided to head to Uniqlo to buy some extra winter clothes. It was a good move, as the temperatures were dropping quickly. We found some cozy jackets and thermal wear that would keep us warm for the rest of the trip.

Lunch: Wagyu Kurusawa With our shopping done, we headed to Wagyu Kurusawa for a much-anticipated lunch. The restaurant is renowned for its high-quality beef, and it did not disappoint. We indulged in some mouthwatering wagyu beef, cooked to perfection. The rich flavors and tender texture were unforgettable, making it one of the best meals of our trip.

Evening: Tanukikoji Shopping Street and Ramen Dinner As evening approached, we made our way to Tanukikoji Shopping Street. This lively arcade is lined with a variety of shops, offering everything from souvenirs to fashion items. We spent a few hours browsing and picking up some unique finds. To end the day on a high note, we headed to the famous ramen street in Sapporo for dinner. The rich, savory ramen was the perfect comfort food after a day of exploring in the cold.

Stay tuned for more adventures in Hokkaido! Thank you for joining me, and I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I did!

  1. Japan doesn't have (or has hardly any) empty or failing malls. However, I've read they have quite a lot of empty or abandoned homes.
