A walkthrough of Momiji (紅葉), a room on the third (top) floor at Kasenan Seni Onsen Iwanoyu (花仙庵 仙仁温泉岩の湯), a luxury Onsen (hot springs) ryokan located in Suzaka, Nagano Prefecture (長野県須坂市), Japan.
There are three room categories at Iwanoyu, with Momiji being one of eight Sengotei (仙郷亭) category of rooms – it’s the middle category. Senjutei (仙寿亭) is the entry-level room (there are 6 of them), and Senzantei (仙山亭) is the top room type of which there are 4 of them. Senzantei is slightly larger than Sengotei and has a dedicated bedroom, and guests staying there have access to one additional private rental Onsen bath, which are not available to guests staying in other room types. We tried to book Senzantei, but it’s incredibly difficult to get a reservation at Iwanoyu to begin with, and Senzantei gets snapped up early and quickly – there are tons of repeat guests that stay here.
