Universal Studios ORLANDO vs. JAPAN! What’s The Difference?

Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Japan are over 7,000 MILES apart from each other…but they have a lot more in common than you’d think! In this video I’m highlighting the differences and similarities that these two Universal parks share including some classic rides that USED to exist in Florida and experiences that are uniquely Japanese.

  1. Love seeing the comparison. Great video! Did it feel more congested in places? It seems like they really tried to fit a lot more stuff into certain areas of the park.

  2. I agree about dreamworks land in Florida. I felt like it was a budget land that was put together that could’ve been done a whole LOT better.

  3. I just subbed and you dropped this. I remember going to USJ and being blown away and coming back and its the same. I think you are spot on. Thought Mario was the only miss for me. All else: tremendous, down even to the service. Two things to add to your review are City Walk areas. USJ pulls this off well too with the locations of the hotels (being right at the door) and the City walk to me feels a bit more immersive. A bonus of japan is the wide selection of omiyage that can be found. I find myself spending way too much on buying them for persons home.

will you do a USS Beijing? Minion land is opening in Singapore next month and will definitely add to the park since its a bit small for now that can be done in about 1/2 day. One great bonus of USS is the cost of souvenirs. A lot more affordable than Japan.

  4. As a Brit, I was slightly taken aback by the way you pronounced Costa, but great video! Would love to visit either one of these parks one day.

  5. I have watched audience participation in other YT vids at Tokyo Disney and Japanese pro baseball game. It is 2X to 5X over typical US parks. That makes these USJ medium-sized shows and streetmosphere stuff more sustainable.
USF has "lost" street bands, Fish throwing/stunt show in San Fran, Ghostbusters at library, etc. You need a core of 10-20% of audience really getting into it – to attract and keep larger audience. Which then creates enuf value for management to keep them

  6. Jaws… my God, I was at USF in the last day of operations, in January of 2012. I HAVE to go to Japan just to have this experience again. What a great video, I really loved it! Thanks for sharing!!

  7. What month did you go here because dealing with the refurbs must have been frustrating especially going all the way out there. And can we replace F & F with the Demon Slayer ride please and thank you???

  8. This is one of my favorite videos of yours!!

Side note, did you and Ellison use a travel agent or plan everything yourself?

  9. 6:22 There’s actually an attraction that’s a block across Stage 22 called “Playing with Curious George” where you can interact with the titular character. Previously, the soundstage where the Curious George attraction is now located used to be the attraction starring Woody Woodpecker called “Animation Celebration” before it closed down in 2017.

  10. Vincent, said it in other videos, and i'll say it again

but you are doing an amazing work! this videos are so informative, refreshing, they feel like what all youtubers tried to do years ago but derailed from, and you just nailed it!

keep the amazing work you are such a valuable asset for this parks and their "fun facts" / "secrets" giving them the showcase they are meant to be in! great work

    greetings from mexico ✌🏻🇲🇽

  11. Getting rid of Back to the Future the Ride in any Universal park was a big mistake. I wish we could have kept one of them. Florida has ET, Japan has Jaws, but now none of them have BTTF. It should have been kept in at least one of the parks

  12. USF/IOA are my home parks and if you're just comparing USF vs USJ, USJ wins because of Flying Dinosaur, Hollywood Dream, Super Mario World, and for having the last remaining JAWS ride. However, they closed their Spiderman ride which knocks it down a couple of points. USF is bogged down by bad rides like F&F and Jimmy Fallon. Now if you're comparing IOA against USJ, it becomes a little more difficult to determine a winner because I think Velocicoaster is the best roller coaster I've ridden (out of about 70 so far) and Hagrid's, Hulk, and Spiderman carry the park, but again IOA has a few dead spots that USJ doesn't have, so USJ might win here too. Time will tell if Epic Universe becomes my new favorite Universal (and in general) theme park next year.

  13. I'm Japanese That was a great comparison Orlando and Japan both are great parks But like E.T. and The Mummy There are few legendary rides in Japan. The situation is left to Hello Kitty and Nintendo. I envy Orlando

  14. This is unfair comparison! Because Universal Studio has almost US contents only, but USJ has US contents and Japanese Contents!

  15. Donkey Kong Mine Cart Madness just opened Dec 11, perhaps you can drop by there if you're still in japan ?
