LIVING in FUKUOKA | No.18 | Autumn foliage spots & nearby gourmet
🎥 select HD for video resolution setting.
I live in Fukuoka.
And this is a vlog of my ordinary days.
This week, I visited some Autumn Foliage spots in Fukuka. They are all easy to access and are within 4km from Hakata station. As usual, when I visit
a certain place for a purpose, I try to find cafes and dinings nearby to maximize the opportunity. I did so this week as well and had found very nice places that I visited for the first time. I fell in love their foods.
Recent years I was busy with work and did not have much space to enjoy the season much, but good thing about vloging, I started to pay attention
to small things in life and this year, I can say I embraced my autumn to the full. 🍁
Thank you for watching.
Please check information about shops & places here below.
▶Tsukuritake
A 100-year-old hideaway Japanese house in a quiet residential area of Fukuoka, a charming couple serving Japanese dishes.
I came to find the dining, just recently and visited for lunch, which has very special ramenmade with Amakusa Daio chicken, one of the best 5 brand chicken produced in Japan, also with mushroom.
The broth was just out-of-this-world good that I enjoyed it ’till the last drop.Turns out, the ramen was one of the best I’d tasted in Fukuoka.
A friendly owner told me that they are going to run only at dinner time from 2025.If you want to make a reservation, you can DM via their instagram.

▶Takamiya Garden Tea House
Japanese house and garden located in a residential area, a 5-minute walk from Takamiya Station.
A traditional Japanese-style building constructed in 1915, is registered as a cultural asset by Fukuoka City. It has a restaurant, a teahouse, and a wedding venue, and a Japanese garden where you can enjoy the seasons.
On this day, we were able to see the autumn leaves in the garden, but the teahouse was closed due to a wedding, so we would like to visit again.
It is better to inquire about the open hours of teahouse through Instagram or website, and reservations are required for the restaurant.

▶sou
A bakery quietly located in a residential area of Takamiya.
It is a small bakery run by a couple and very adorable.
It is always so cute to see children playing on the corner of the store.
The bread is very tasty and may be my most favorite bakery in Fukuoka.
The combination of flavors of the bread is sophisticated and very good.About 5 minutes walk from Takamiya Station.
Open except Monday.

Another beautiful clip, 2nd Passport! Takamiya is a nice, quiet quarter. I used stop there and shop at a Bon Repas on my way to Ohashi/Minami, do not know if it is still there. Have a friend who sell honey and tea in nearby Hirao. Your keema curry looks great, with roasted cacao! Most of times I include corn in keema. Sometimes I cook Seychelles curry which may include dried fruits, nuts and cacao. It can be beef, chicken or shrimps and always have coconut milk. But different from Thai or Indian curry, it is African. I am addicted to S&B Shichimi Togarashi and Kashmiri Indian chili powder. Maizuru Park is very nice. At Sakura season we always had big pick-nicks there with many friends, someone always booked a nice spot early in the morning. Have good days, arigato!
