⁴ᴷ Osaka: Higashi Umeda Station (大阪府: 東梅田駅) – Japan Walking Tour (December, 2024)
Since it’s getting colder, I decided to head toward western Japan. Planning to visit the major cities in Shikoku, I crossed the sea and landed in Wakayama by ferry from Tokushima, then continued straight north until I reached the Kita area of Osaka City.
Over the weekend, I strolled around the neighborhoods of Sonezaki and Kitashinchi, located near Higashi-Umeda Station, which are bustling with activity. In the past, Sonezaki had a certain atmosphere, with older women soliciting customers even in broad daylight, but I wonder what it’s like now?
Also, because it’s the end of the year and Osaka’s economy seems strong, it felt like Kitashinchi was especially lively and vibrant.
