Atami is my favorite tourist spot in Japan.
Atami has a long history as a hot spring resort, and it has been a popular tourist destination for many years.
However, Atami’s tourism industry declined for 40 years.
Many hotels and inns went out of business.
The downtown area also declined.
Some of these places became ruins.
After overcoming a very difficult period, Atami has revived.
The long, dramatic history makes Atami a fascinating town.
Walking around Atami is really fun! The beach is also amazing!
