LIVING in FUKUOKA | No.17 | Hidden Alleys & Small cafes / restaurants in Fukuoka

I live in Fukuoka.
And this is a vlog of my ordinary days.
A long-waited autumn foliage is now its best season in everywhere in Fukuoka. In Tenjin Chuo Park, Ohori Park, Maizuru Park and so forth, colorful foliage are seem, people enjoying it outside.
So, this week, I walked around the city.
I love to find small hidden alleys. The mixture of old houses, shop ads, people walking by or riding in bike… all make it very charming.
I’m sure there are more. But I hope the small alleys and nearby cafes and restaurants I introduce in the video would make you want to find your special hidden alleys in your area or even when you come traveling in Japan.

Thank you for watching.

  1. I find your videos calming and just very enjoyable to watch. Thank you! Your beef curry looked so delicious!! I'm looking forward to being back in Japan next year for a bit, even if it is for work. 😊

  2. Very nice again, 2nd Passport! I love to see my old town of Fukuoka and I like your filming and tempo. Tenjin Chuo Park is nice with the ACROS building. We lived just across the river in Nakasu. If I remember well there are 385 steps to the roof, but there are also elevators. In the street floor there is a charming stationary shop named Juliette´s Letters. The building also often have expositions of ceramics and handicraft and also concerts. There are several international food festivals in the park every year, I could never abstain from eating Indian or Pakistani curry :-)) We also often bought a bento or two and had pick-nick in the park. It is very beautiful both in the autumn and duirng sakura time. Japanese curry is amazing, a totally different animal from Indian, Thai or Seychelles. I learned the tastes in Cocos Curry and in some other restos in Fukuoka and make it often back in Romania, I can find S&B and Torokeru roux here. Keema I make with minced beef and corn, hot or medium hot. Also just plain sauce with tonkatsu and rice. There is/was a place in the Kawabata shopping arcade who made "grilled" curry in ceramic bowls, excellent! Your curry looks great and also the Spanish food later. The subway/densha to imajuku, it is nice. We often went to nearby Meinohama and parks for BBQs with friends on the beach. In the colder seasons we also often went to Itoshima to eat grilled oysters and seafood in the tents on the quais, very good! Nokonoshima island by ferry is also nice, a bit hippie wibe 🙂 Super nice clip, arigato!
