I tried a gastronomic express in Kyushu Japan | Orange Shokudo

Join me as I experience the dining train in Kyushu, Japan, from Sendai Station (Kagoshima) to Shin-Yatsushiro (Kumamoto). While the Shinkansen takes only 33 minutes between these two stations, this gastronomic express will take you on a 4-hour leisurely ride with a course meal. The name of the train is Orange Shokudo.

  1. Hey there, my friend! You're off on yet another incredible adventure—how wonderful! Japan is absolutely stunning, and the scenery is breathtaking. I truly hope to experience it alongside you someday. Stay safe, sending you lots of love, and make sure to have an amazing time on my behalf!

  2. LOL I'm hungry I'm hungry! Ooooh snacks! What was in the souvenir bag with the blue label? Looks like a nice trip if a bit expensive for me. Too bad the weather was not cooperative. A sunny day would have been better. Thanks for sharing your experience!

  3. The word "gastronomic" should be a red flag to anyone with common sense to stay away unless you want to ruin yourself financially on wanky bullshit food that's not going to taste good or fill you up and probably make you sick and get diarrhea.

  4. Thank you so much for all your videos. I have been sick with both covid and tonsillitis this month. Unlucky. I came across your ferry videos, and they were the perfect distraction for my tired brain. Calm, funny, delicious. Happy trails, friend! 🤚

  5. That was fun, but I got hungry waiting for your dinner. Thank you for bringing me along. 😁🙏💕 from NC 🇺🇸

  6. Can it really be gastronomy if it doesn’t include curry? 😉 Nice peaceful video. Thanks.

  7. You know the food course isn't fulfilling, when you need to buy snacks. Reminded me of the overpriced "art" food they serve at fancy restaurants, all style and no substance.

  8. 6:08 Correct me if im wrong, but do the peninsula of that spot gets covered with water by the afternoon and it makes that place an island? I vagely remember reading somewhere of that

  9. Thanks for the video and for starving for us to bring this to us. Like shish, mere bites of food were offered! I had flashbacks to your KFC Dinner last year when you mentioned that you had been on the train for an hour and a half and were just getting the first course. Lots of goodies in between, so maybe they were meant to be survival food! Yes, it's a nice little meal, but for someone with your appetite, it was a "Snack." I know my husband would have been grumbling about the serving sizes. But, thanks for the trip and on to the next one.

  10. "I'm ready to eat" 😂😂Japan is quality, in all aspects. I've been there many times, and although quite wealthy I'm still overawed by the experience and the great value for money, provided you don't go nuts.

  11. What a nice train ride! Now STJ, you should’ve eaten because you know they don’t serve huge meals on these trains lol 😂 thank you for another great video 😊

  12. A "Gastronomic Express." Strange name is strange. But so long as the food is good, the views scenic, and the ride (mostly) smooth, who cares?

    Edit 1: Beautiful country.
Edit 2: That cheesy snack in the unique tin sure looks a lot nicer than my can of pringles right now 😛
