The Gozaisho Ropeway that took us up to the top of Mt. Gozaisho in Mie prefecture is quite a ride. 38 cars travel at one minute intervals up 780m over 2.1km in 12 minutes. The highlight was the 60m supporting tower seen in this video; it’s the tallest such tower in Japan and hoisted us high enough for an incredible view. Mt. Gozaisho (1212m) is a pretty cool mountain with some amazing rocky ridges, but since I didn’t hike up it, I can’t claim to have climbed it!
