Our world is a patchwork of wonders, entwined with places that whisper tales of lives once lived. Some are celebrated, etched into history books, while others, like this castle, remain forgotten.
These places, lost to the everyday rush of life, stand as monuments to dreams, ambitions, and stories untold.
Today, we find ourselves drawn to one such enigma: an isolated castle in the heart of France. With only a scattering of homes nearby, it rests quietly on its hill. There’s barely a trace of its history online, as though it’s been deliberately erased. To uncover its story, we had to see it for ourselves.
Inside, a decade of abandonment has left its mark—mushrooms sprout from the ceilings, and dust cloaks the once-grand interiors. It feels as though the family who lived here simply vanished, leaving behind a dream they once cherished—a dream of owning a castle, as fleeting as the wind.
Pictures reveal a family of African heritage that must have once called this castle their home. And in the weapon room, adorned with ornate African treasures, their story unfolds further—a life seemingly tied to two worlds.
What drew this family here, to this secluded place? And maybe even more puzzlingly: what drove them away?
This castle feels like a world suspended in time, waiting for someone to uncover its story. And so, we step inside, into the unknown, to piece together the fragments of a life abandoned yet preserved in its quiet, haunting beauty.

Hello yo my favorite guy’s ! Hope your both going well. As always everything you show is specially wonderful. The place is a Wonder. I wonder where they went. So many things left behind. So wonderful to see you both. 😊 love from Arizona
Brilliant!…. As always! … and respectful, and well edited, and empathetic, and I hope you already know your all of that! You stand out among a lot of ….. well rubbish! We gotta get that algorithm back in your favour. You’re so good at what you do ! 😊😊😊
Hello thx für dein schönes Video ,ich wünsche dir noch viel Erfolg ,es ist sehr schön und spannend 👍🏻🙏 Respekt 🎄🕯️🍀💪 cool danke
Great explore guys very interesting. 😊😊
You dastardly dust distributors! Funny! Good to see you guys. What a beautiful place that was and sad that it is so deteriorated.
Wow! this explore was very different. the Arched dining space is unique for sure. If these walls could talk, I could imagine how many lives passed through this place. Such old furniture may have been there already, and the last family added their touches for sure. Perhaps these last occupants were from Sudan? They are a beautiful family. The remnants of the hospital bed remind me of my own mother. I cared for her in the last days of her precious life. she passed a year ago and seriously I had to call every single day to ask the company to pick up her equipment They came and picked it up a few weeks ago! Her insurance was paying for it. Some people just pay out of pocket for special beds and such to make life easier for the patient. Perhaps they owned this bed. What I do know is that this seem to be a large family with yes, a royal bathroom! I seen one other bathroom in a castle a while back what a view for doing your business in. Royal indeed! And Remon the critters had their eye on you today are should I say the spider had all 8 eyes on you he was a big one your reaction was proper indeed. Just another day at work for you and Maurano we appreciate what you do to preserve the history of these awesome places. Meanwhile I'm going to watch this one again great explore and in France BRAVO' thankyou sincerely, Ninamosha B.
Hello guys thanks again for your great video and that long thing is not instrument it is the pipe for smoking 💜
Tomorrow — Happy American 🦃 day❣️

Really beautiful exploration. The only thing is I don't think per se that it was a African family that owned it. I think it might have been a white family and she might have been the maid and was allowed to have some of her family come with her cuz they have done that in the past in history and as far as the bed that's in that one room. Yeah the person might have gotten sick and obviously the hospital must have came to get whoever was sick and that's probably where The black lady's boss. And that's why it's vacant today cuz she was not able to keep up with it. Possibly that's just my opinion. I could be totally wrong but I see a lot of artifacts from Africa but they could have been traveling there and that's where they got this lady. Who knows? Just saying but thanks again for the exploration. Kind of cool
Yay!!! Maureno and Remon! Thankful Explomo was saved!!! 🙏🙏🙏

Fab Job, thank you…a word of info, Copper actually has a reddish color and brass has a yellowish color, so what you state is copper is actually brass, like the chandelier on the table
Opening sequence was amazing lads' great video' keep well
Loved The Video!! Another Awesome Find!!
Awesome house thanks I enjoyed watching
Beautiful castle chateau. Saw another explore from 11 months ago. Sadly in between them and you the place has been destroyed. So many things missing / stolen especially paintings and African artifacts. Some furniture and other things are placed in other areas. Thank you for your explore.
Interesting to see African home in Europe , I wonder what happened to them make them leave beautiful homes and never return , love the antique decoration around the house, thank you for sharing
😢
This Castle is still beautiful & grand! So sad so much is left behind & she is totally abandoned! Another wonderful video as always! ❤️👍👍😘✊
I love the places you find and explore but you really suck at finding out any info on the past inhabitants or the structure and you really REALLY suck at filming the smaller details like books or antiques and even describing certain things that the viewers can't see or can't make out.
Watching this I can see two different cultures living here at once.
I enjoy seeing Ramone leading the explores… nice change… (and you're great too Mo!)
the very small plaque in the bedroom is not Mother Mary; it's St. Teresa of Liseux… Called "The Little Flower." When you see holy pictures and the lady is holding a bunch of roses, it is almost certainly St. Teresa.
and I think that ornate piece from Bosnia is a traditional smoking pipe
It would do you a HUGE justice if you were to read up on the history of the French, European and other countries as well as checking with the town library, city hall records you'd be surprised at the history you might find!
Save the tapestries. Magnifique. Thanks, guys. ✌️
Great video and a freat castle it have very cozy rooms .

What a wonderful chateau. I wondered who owned it and why they left. So many things left behind it was sad to see. I really liked all the art and the wallpapers. I am also sad to read here that it has been destroyed, such a pity. Many thanks for the tour.
That was definitely a smoking pipe that Raymond was blowing into calling an instrument.. probably was nasty. 🤮
What a great castle, the murals, brick kitchen, the 4th floor bathroom and most of all- the family got to live in a real castle for a period of time in the hills of France. Can't beat that! Great job once again Maureno and Remon!
Deport
Here's a lot of info on the family. The Lindeques, a South African family, own the Château de Montflour in France. The castle is partially registered as a historical monument. Some say the castle is a unique and memorable place to stay, with eclectic decor, luxurious bathrooms, and home-made food. (Old info, not inhabited since the late 90s)
