In this video we explore the Dotonbori district in Osaka, Japan. It is a popular nightlife and entertainment area in Osaka. On our way to try the famous street food we stumbled upon a sign for a cat and dog café. The cat café was closed so we visited the Mameshiba Café. The cost to enter was 880 yen for 30 minutes. Mame Shiba Inus are a miniature breed of Shiba Inus, a Japanese breed of hunting dogs. Dad decided to check out the shops while mom and I visited the café. It was so fun and the dogs were so cute!

Dotonbori is famous for its wide variety of restaurants and street food. We had a difficult time deciding where to eat and ended up at an Okonomiyaki restaurant. Okonomiyaki is a savory version of Japanese pancake, made with flour, eggs, shredded cabbage, meat/ protein and topped with a variety of condiments. It definitely wasn’t my favorite food but my parents really liked it!

We ended the evening by taking the famous canal cruise. It was really nice to see Dotonbori all lit up! If there is one thing you should do definitely take the cruise at night! Below are a few links to help you plan your visit to Dontonbori.
