We went on a 3 day 2 night trip to Hakone with our then 4-month-old baby. It was our first multi-night trip with our baby and we were worried about how accommodating Hakone is in regard to traveling with a baby or small child. To our surprise, we were able to comfortably get by with a stroller and there are more elevators and nursing spaces than you’d think! The only downside is the (extremely) crowded and windy buses to travel within Hakone. If you can rent a car, I recommend you go for it…
Our biggest tip is to buy the Hakone Digital Free Pass which gets you on public transportation & the sightseeing cruise boat for 2 to 3 days!
