🔴LIVE: Inside Costco Japan: Live Tour with Country Manager Ken Theriault /
Costco opened its first warehouse in Japan here in Fukuoka back in 1999, with a fellow Canadian, Ken Theriault, leading the charge. Since that first location in Hisayama, Ken has gone on to assume the company’s top position as Country Manager and has overseen the opening of 35 locations across Japan. The success of Costco’s unique membership and warehouse model wasn’t guaranteed—many were skeptical at the start. But with adjustments to fit the local market, Costco has become a huge hit in Japan, helping consumers and small businesses save money on expenses every day. In this episode, Ken will take me on a tour of the soon-to-open Ogori (Fukuoka) Costco warehouse. Join me to learn more about Costco Japan’s story and its future.
