Hidden deep within a mountain forest in Germany, an abandoned castle stands alone, its walls wrapped in centuries of secrets. Surrounded by a moat and fortified ramparts, this ancient structure sits atop a ridge, looking down over lands it once safeguarded. Its lower floors are rugged, made of weathered stone, while the upper levels, framed in delicate half-timber, tell of its evolution through time.
Johann Albrecht von Eller-Eberstein brought this place to life in the years following the turmoil of the Thirty Years’ War.
And yet, some believe an even older fortress stood here before it, though no records remain to prove it, leaving its true origins cloaked in mystery.
As we step inside, fragments of its past remain untouched: antiques lie scattered, a grand piano waits in silence, and details linger, hinting at lives long departed. It’s as if time itself has made a home here, preserving traces of a lost era.
Today, we wander through its desolate rooms, piecing together a story from what remains, hoping to catch a glimpse of the lives this castle once held.

👮👮👮 Polizei und Nachbarn überwachen diesen Ort, Vandalismus!!!🤬🤬🤬
Amazing
Shame the renovations had not continued, but these massive mansions are exorbitantly expensive to refurbish and maintain with the now much increased cost of utilities and taxes and whatnot, big places bleed money, and you gotta have a LOT of it to go around!
😊😊

Found the place with just few clicks, lets just hope the place won't be ransacked soon…
Amico quella non è una pistola giocattolo. È una Walter 38.chissa perché non ti soffermi ha guardare bene sia il fucile antico e la pistola. Ve le portate via voi ha telecamera spenta. Furbacchione.
Hey! Greetings from Germany ✌️,
If the building is a listed building, this means that all renovations must be carried out in the original condition. In other words: windows from the 1800s, original floors and otherwise you have to bring in special craftsmen who specialize in old work. And that costs a lot of money!
I think the owners ran out of money and that's why the building was abandoned.
what happend to the family??
It is obvious that the last occupant was a painter! Too bad you did not notice any signatures on the paintings!
What a beautiful place! And yes an n95 mask is good for mold and everything else. That was what was used during the covid they also have filtering ones that have little plastic things on either sides as well.
Wie schade! 🙁
Sovětská okupace Německa? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Rusko osvobodilo Evropu id nacistických vrahů a zločinců. Němci likvidovali evropské země a vyvraždili miliony lidí !!!!! Rusové hnali německé nacisty až do Berlína pro konečné vítězství nad nacismem a fašismem !
One beautiful room after another ❤️ what a treasure find 😯 love you from Florida USA 🥳
I don't think that Castle could defend itself in a rainstorm… There are absolutely zero armaments or even emplacements that could have been. This is just an old house for some rich guy. You make it sound so spooky hee hee huge Castle fortress protecting everything …? Hmmm
Last year was going thru a very old farming community .There was a gorgeous old school / church vry small cemetery next to it. Also gew other old buildings. Went thru this community again few wks. ago it was all completely gone , except old house with original farmstead behind it. They put up a fence and no tresspassing signs. Always loved going thru little community. Like you fellas who document things it very important to history. You never know when it might be needed. I am so glad that i have taken
pictures of that little community.where
Wonder why family or historic people go thru get things. So sad all going to waste.
Because all the valuables left behind my thought the reason nothing is being stolen or taken , is due to the fact of security of some sorts . Think possibly that just maybe someone stays there for security reasons. Usually jewelry antiques etc. sre gone when something is vacant a long time. Just my thoughts. Really like this video. You guys sre great
As we all know, Russians are murderous, murdering scumbags. In 1945, as they were raping, murdering & destroying their way into Germany, one man decided to stay instead of fleeing. He lived in a castle that had been in his family for centuries, & understandably didn't want to leave, thinking he could reason with the Russians once they arrived. How wrong could he be. They hauled him out of there & he was sent to a brutal gulag, where he died.
Mold decomposes organic dead materials, it's always in the air. There would have to be a whole lot of spores in the air for you to breath in and even then it can't really harm you, we guess. Yeah, mold, it breaks down, it gives a smell and it looks unappetizing and then that's as far as it can get and also, you don't have to eat it neither, so we guess it's all a little overstated.
Then, you see, it's even healthy to eat naturally molded mountain cave cheese, like for example Calabres-cheese!
when you find jewlery, and stuff of value, cut it out from the film. it will trigger vandalism and thievery.
I know exactly where this spot is.. f up u broke into it!
žáná okupace německa nikdy nebyla ale ….to jsi si vymyslel ne
This is not Lost. 😅 The new owner live in this.
The last sign "Denkmal" is maybe the reason why it is abandoned. Its the german logic of trying to safe something with the power of rules. I could imagine someone got the house from their relatives start the renovation and some german burocrat put it to Denkmalschutz . When thats done you have to follow strict rules what you can renovate and how you do it. Making it very strict and expansive to renovate as you need to keep it to the old style and so on. Then most of the time owners abondan it because its cheaper to build a modern home from scratch then trying to maintain the old Denkmal. And in the end? The Denkmal wich is "Safe" rott and decay in the following years 😀
Its the same logic they do at rare animals they forbid to own them and took them away from the owner/breeder most often they just kill them. In the end they are extinct in the nature and the last population wich was healthy living in some private homes where killed long time ago from the government itself. Thats german logic and power of rules 😀
Riktigt bra video. Jävligt intressant. Kul att få se huset. 👍👍👍
