  1. If Disney announced they were going to release Song of the South in theaters, it would probably make a billion dollars.

  2. If this rumor were to be confirmed then Disney would end up irreversibly damaging its own reputation and image in Japan and then the anime studios that have currently partnering with Disney would end cutting ties with the company and pull their anime off of Disney plus.

  3. I do not see this as much of a culture war thing, as others do in the USA. As Tokyo Disneyland is currently demolishing their Space Mountain, and replacing it with a brand new one. While their Buzz Lightyear ride is also being removed, and being replaced with Wreck-it-Ralph. There is very limited space for expansions in the Tokyo resort, and lately OLC has wanted the parks to be more unique from their American counterparts. Hence why the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure would have been rejected, even if “The Princess and the Frog” was popular in Japan. Same can be said for Disneyland Paris receiving a Splash Mountain themed to “The Lion King”. It is a generally popular animated classic, and the French (and Europeans in general) truly love. As for the “Pocahontas” re-theme in Tokyo, there might actually be a lot of credence to that rumor. The “Just Around the Riverbend” song is quite popular in Japan, and is a perfect fit for the Splash Mountain ride system.

Honestly, I only think there are two Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in the USA, because Bob Chapek was trying to save money. Since that theme only made sense in Disneyland, due to New Orleans Square. Magic Kingdom should have received a different film for their Splash Mountain. Part of the criticism was that having a swamp in Frontierland makes no sense thematically.

  4. It’s the most popular ride at the entire resort, and I’ve been there on days when Peter Pan had a 20-minute wait while Splash was hovering around 180 minutes! If the rumor is true, it’s a foolish decision. But Disney has already forced TDR to sell Zootopia merch at the Critter Country carts near the Splash exit to replace the “other” rabbit and fox.

  5. Let me preface this by saying Princess & The Frog is absolutely one of my favorite Disney films, the story is great with a twist and the right amount of Disney magic and I love all things New Orleans. That bein said, I’ve ridden Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in my last trip to Magic Kingdom and it’s just as a feared. It’s not as good as Splash Mountain. Please Tokyo I trust you’ll have the wisdom to keep the best log flume ride of all time intact 🙏 Also is anyone else upset about a “Mountain” ride being removed from the parks lineup or is that just me?
Anyways Splash had more scares and higher stakes and a better theme song (zipadeedoodah!) Heck, they didnt even use the song I expected from Princess and the Frog “Goin Down the Bayou” and that’s their biggest mistake! Well that and there’s no Facilier ! Lame!
