Monkey Surprises & Epic Dives: Ishigaki Island Adventures!

We are still on the beautiful Ishigaki Island for our latest adventures! We begin by exploring the traditional Ishigaki Yaima Village, where we immerse ourselves in the rich Ryukyu culture and architecture. This peaceful village offers an authentic glimpse into Okinawa’s past. While there we see squirrel monkeys, though we later discovered they were imported for tourism purposes they are not originally from here. A bit disappointing….

Next, we dive into the crystal-clear waters of Ishigaki with Diving School Umicoza! While Cosimo, Emma, and Massy had an incredible dive, Luca and I snorkeled, hoping to catch a glimpse of majestic manta rays. Unfortunately, due to the crowds, the mantas didn’t appear, but the underwater world was still mesmerizing.
